Victorville FCC

These are all Administrative documents regarding FOIA Request No. 2005-03244 ("the Victorville Request") filed by the Requester, and responses from the Federal Bureau of Prisons ("BOP") and the Central Justice Department's Office of Information and Privacy ("OIP").  This FOIA Request seeks a laundry list of standard reports and documentation from the Federal Correctional Complex ("FCC") at Victorville, California.  FOIA Requestors must "exhaust," or complete, this administrative process before they can go to court, with some exceptions.

Here and everywhere, the Requestor thanks BOP FOIA/PA Chief Wanda Hunt and her staff for the consistent professionalism and efforts they have offered him, under a crush of national Requests, but without the resources to meet that crush.

DOJ Denial of Delayed Request for Expedited Review, September 15, 2005

After receiving no date certain by which to expect response to the fee waiver appeal, the Requestor sought expedited review from the Office of Information and Privacy. This letter from OIP Co-Director Richard Huff denies expedited review.

Requestor's Response to Expedited Review Denial and Request for Fee Waiver Decision, September 27, 2005

The Requestor here seeks closure of the administrative process so the matter can proceed to either records production, or judicial review of denied fee waivers.

Justice Department Office of Information and Privacy, Denial of Fee Waiver, July 28, 2008

Two years and ten months after requesting a final decision on fee waivers, here is the DOJ's denial that a Public Interest exists in the Victorville request.

Victorville Capacities, June 14, 2005

This record was produced by the BOP's Central FOIA/Privacy Act Office within three months of a separate request.  When comparing these capacities numbers used by the BOP to the Weekly Population Report offered at http://www.bop.gov/news/weekly_report.jsp/, one will see all Victorville facilities currently hold more inmates than the BOP says they should.
